I want to have a steel driveshaft made so I can get my ride going quickly. The stock rearend 7.5 -10 bolt is still in it. One day I will change it out. Until then, What is the chance that my new drives shaft will still bolt up to a swapped rearend?
if i were you, i'd find someone who has a stock one sitting around. i'm sure you'd find one for next to nothing (i had one that i threw in the garbage). then you can spend the money on a new one once when you upgrade the rearend, rather than having to have it cut again. just my opinion.
I have a 1310 grade shaft still. it is 4" too long. Should I just have it cut to fit the stock rearend until I upgrade all at same time? I know it sounds like the smart thing to do. My original thought was new shaft first.....that it might be better to have blow out in the rear end over the drive shaft if my foot gets too heavy on my 383. Just hoping to get the car rolling soon while shopping for a rearend at leisure.
