I have done a few upgrades to my bu that I thought I would share with you all. If you have any questions on the things that I did feel free to ask away.
I have recently changed out my single din head unit to a double din 7 inch touch screen by pioneer, which also has a internal 6 disc CD changer. I had to move my A/C controls up as far as they would go and make a bezel to go around everything to make it look decent. I also decided to center everything and relocate the ciggarette lighter. Here are some pics of that.
I upgraded my sylvania silverstar head lights to HID's. It was a fairly easy install, I just had to make a housing that appeared to be stock to keep the stock look( I dont care too much for the clear glass and disco ball looking internals of the aftermarket housings that accept H4 bulbs. Here are some pics of the silverstars first then the HID's. The pics are showing up a lil blue but they are a bright white, not really blue at all.
And here is the mod that i did with a few relays, normally my parking lights would be dim and when i hit the signal light they would get bright to blink, well I wanted to reverse that to get the effect of DRL's (Daytime Running Lamps) and also to compliment my much brighter headlights. The task at hand was to make my parking lights bright in the neutral state and when i hit the blinker turn off to blink so I still got the blinking effect. I havent quite got this completely right yet, the relays are recieving power from somewhere and not resetting while in neutral state and it has to be done manually.
The first pic is the normal Parking lights and the second is the DRL's
Finally, the last thing that I have done is installed a set of train horns. all I have is a pic of the horns installed under the rear bumper, the compressor and tank are in the spare tire well but they are covered up by my system. The reason behind the train horns is for a seperate alarm that I am going to install that will only detect the opening of the hood, trunk or a door. That way if I hear that horn go off in the middle of the night, I know for sure there is some one in my car.
