my freind is looking at getting a set of hypertic pistons (speed pro) pistons. like around 11:9 or 12:1... he was thinking about spraying a little nitrious through it to. .maybe like a 100 shot? well he talked to a guy at summit and he said you could spray a 100 shot on the piston and have no problems>>?? but i heard you couldnt with these pistons.. so i called a couple other places for him to see what other people say and its about 50/50? what you guys think?

you can hit hypers with 150 and still be okay, my buddy hits his cast pistons with 100

the size of the shot on a hyper will be strongly influenced by the ring gaps used. you also want to be extra careful about detonation with the hyper, they are more brittle than a cast piston. with that being said,i have personally sprayed an lt1 with stock hyper pistons with 150-175 hp for hundreds of passes without issues. sneak up slowly on the tuneup and it will be fine.

Don't waste your time buying Hyper's. Spend the money for a good piston. Money spent doing it right the first time is cheaper than doing it twice.
