Ordering a new converter need advice.

I'm taking out my TCI 3k street fighter this weekend. I'm going to order one from Redneck tomorrow with anti ballooning plates. Car works ok with the 3000 now but Im planning ahead here I'm going to put a bigger cam and more compression in it next winter. Will it kill my car now If I put a 3500 stall in it ? Or should I stick with the 3k? Has a mild hyd roller 222 230 dur 112 lsa 509 528 lift I have 1.6 rocker so add to that a little. cam power is rated 2k to 6200 its a Crane pwr max. Every thing else is your basic stuff 3.73 gears 28" tire pro 450 hp +/-.

I really don't have the $ for one of those as much as I would like to. Nothing against them, I love there stuff but I have to stretch my money this year.

:?: Pardon my ignorance but if money's funny and the cam and compression aren't coming 'til next year why bother with the work and expense of a convertor now? Especially for only a 500 rpm difference. There's some things i just don't get but the rest I simply don't understand.

Adding N20 this year I should have mentioned that. And the transmission is failing.

Ditto Cutlass - If you think there is something wrong with the trans there probably is. Time to fix it before you really cook it.

Not sure of your view of generics but for your info, I put a Jeg's XHD 2900-3200 10" convertor in my car two years ago after I broke a B&M holeshot. It stalls right at 3000 behind my 389, has dual anti balloon plates, it's rated at 800 hp, and is $400 even. I don't know who builds them and I'm not spraying but was looking for an affordable unit that wasn't "fragile". They also offer 32-35, 35-38, and 38-41 for the same price.

PTC, makes a great converter, check them out. but when messing with nitrous, if you buy a cheap converter, you will be leaving E.T. on the table. the cheap converters will slip upwards of 20% or more!!

Ordered it form Redneck today and a 37 element sprag. Told him what I had (specs) and what I wanted to do with it, hes building one for my app. Got the sprag and the converter shipped for 615.00 and he gave me advice on my tanny build.
