Ok what would be the best senario:
A. Just buy an aftermarket case and swap current guts into it with a new planetary. Have a stock case and I'm done messing with shields and blankets.
B. Buy a complete trans already built from someone ATI, etc.
C. Have the guy that helps me with trans stuff for well over 15 years piece together the parts and build one and only save a couple hundred.
I want to go with the least headache. I'm also leaning towards the new trans due to the fact I'll gain a backup. However I have never bought a complete trans from any companies and don't want to have to go through the trans before I use it. I have been shopping for something with a 1.80 straight cut set and good for some growing hp wise room in the future. I don't know of pro's and con's from brand to brand. I do like the quality of stuff I have purchased from ATI over the years. Convertor is a non issue since I have a neighbor that builds them.
