Having trouble getting my hands on a 8.5 10 bolt, have access to a rear end from a 95 z28 lt1 camaro, Im assuming I will have to fabricate a 4 link to use that rear end, am I correct on that assumption? Is there a huge width difference from factory g-body rear end? Also can get my hands on a 12 bolt housing from a a 71 chevelle, I'm pretty sure its longer in width, but not sure how much? any insight would be helpful. I dont trust running a 7.5 10 bolt with the amount of power I plan to put to the car. Thanks in advance!

There would be no benefit in putting in all that work for the Camaro rear end. They're junk.

Now you could try to find an older F body rear end. Those are the 8.5. Not sure on the width.

Only downside is they're also leaf spring axles. Another option is an 8.5" B-Body rear, but would be a bit of work because the angle of the upper ears is different (heim joints), plus I think you would need adjustable arms.

I plan on getting adjustable arms, have had no luck finding an 8.5 around here. Anytime I run across one it is a leaf spring set up, if I'm correct, the chunk is cast iron, and don't have upper control arm mounts! seems it would be a pain to fabricate. I have seen quite a few 8.8's floating around so that option does sound attractive, unless anyone has any tips on fabricating a leaf spring rear to fit, also what kinda fab does it take on the 8.8?

try arear out of a mid 70s a body they are wider ,you will need 5.5 back space wheels ,but they are plentiful. some of the gran prix had bolt in axles,so no need for c-clip illiminators. have done this know it works.
