Rear Identification

So im trying to ID what type of gear ratio i have in my rear..

these are the number that i have seen in the back

G09
22507717
K31 GM

I cant find any info on any of them.. i do know its a posi, but other then that im stuck

For just gear info you could always rotate and count.

You need the numbers from the AXLE tube between the spring perch and the cast center section...NOT the cast center section. Thise numbers are the casting number date code etc.

You may have to get out the wire wheel and file/ sand paper. IF your housing is rusty you may not be able to get these STAMPED in numbers Identified....

The only other way to find the ratio would be to OPEN the rear and read the outer diameter edge of the ring gear ...it will have the ring gear part number and the ring gear AND pinion tooth count stamped into the ring gear. Jim
