I just got all the my SS brake lines from Inline Tube. Yesterday a guy that I know told me that he wont use SS lines because they have a tendency to split. He builds big $$ drag cars so its not like he doesnt know cars. He claims that SS lines arent approved by the DOT because of the way they are made. They all have a welded seam and thats where they come apart. Has anybody out there ever heard of this ?? I havent installed the lines yet. Im sure I can send them back and get a set of OEM steel lines.

ALL stock brake lines have seams... The better brands of SS tubing are often seamless, like what Classic Tube uses. Sounds like he's been using El Cheapo brand bulk tubing.
