tailshaft plug

Is there any cheap way to plug the tailshaft from leaking when instaling the trans besides a driveshaft end or a bought plastic one,unless they are way cheap. i just need something fast and cheap right now.
like is there something i can grab fast from home depot.

take a trash bag and fold it square about 12 in by 12 in and wrap tail duct tape
