Torque Converter Bolts

So i just got done finishing up installing a 700r4 in my monte.. and im trying to put in the torque converter bolts.. im using the ones i had in the 700r4 i took out of the trans i just pulled, the bolts fit fine in that one.. now the problem i have is there tight as can be and stripping the bolt in the new one.. is there a different size i don't know about or did i just seriously screw something up

Doesn't sound good. Bolts should be metric and the ones from your old converter should have worked unless your new converter was built on an old converter core that had standard bolts. See if a common 3/8" coarse treaded bolt screws in the converter by hand. if so you'l have to geat some standard bolts. Could you have cross threaded the bolt that's giving you the problem? Torque on these bolts should be around 35 ft lbs, any more and there's a problem.
