I must be a true hillbilly, never could figure out how to get a torque wrench on the four middle bolts on a small block without extensions and universals and stuff like that which will change your torque value anyway,I always relied on my Matco long handled 9/16" combination wrench, run the pattern snug, let it settle for a couple minutes, snug them again cause they'll settle in,let it sit for a couple more minutes and then go about a quarter turn and never had a problem,Later,KillerDave

Start at 20 lbs/ft. & increase by 5 lbs/ft till you get to 30. "Spiral" pattern starting form the center.
