I hope you are going to replace the 7.5 rear end with something stronger.

sounds very doable with what you got. alot of factors will play into that, suspension, tuning, weather ect. but you should be able to get there no problem

HEADS

Oh those 215 heads are not like the 781 or 049 heads.

The 215 heads are smallest open chamber head for big blocks THAT is a good thing for low end grunt 206 172 valves again good for low end and mid range performance you will be doing.

781 heads are 114-118 cc head chamber volume... You will loose compression with them and these were used in the emmision era of big blocks. They are good street heads But I will take the 215 first

049 heads are again larger cc combustion chamber heads 114-118 again BUT these have the some of the largest intake runner volumes of all the big block intermediate heads... So you have the highest potential for rev with stock components with the 049 again may be barely noticeable.

IF you had 100 or 200 dome I would take the 049 heads if you have flat tops I would take the 215.

Looks like you made a GOOD choice in heads. :)

If you want the most that combo will give AND the best ET you will need to bump the converter up one more level 3500 -3800 you need to pull at least a 1.55 -1.60 60 foot to probably get the ET you want.

REAR yes what is the rear you are running? CAuse that big block is going to do in the little 7.5 in short time. 350th could be next if it is not internally beefed to handle the smack of the big block and stick ezzz off the line.

I would have piced this cam better low end for track purposes and FUN TORQUE.

I do not think your going to have enough track to get the most from that cam. What will you be shifting at?

That seems like a lot of RPM on a just a stock rebuild gm bottom end... I wouldn't spin it any higher than 5500-6000 and pick a cam with less duration like what others have suggested... Hope you have a new rear end in the works, 8.5/12 bolt/9" etc...
