no most S10's require a 5.5bs where g bodys take a 3.5bs if they are 5.5's then they will fit with a full notch...

have him measure the backspace.... a 15x8 will fit a 28x10.5 with 3.5bs.... is your 8.5 a grand national 8.5 because it's the same lenght as the factory 7.5..

you will probably be alright with the smaller size tires but if they bulge at all you might have some issues I have a set of 16" Irocs on the monte and they barely clear with a 4.9" offset so I think you'll be alright

4.5" backspace 8" wide wheel will accomodate up to a 255/60-15 tire on most Gbody cars. You can also add a 1/4' or 5/16" spacer behind and run a 275/60-15. Good luck.

Sorry the pic is sucky, it a scan from a very old pic. This was my very first Malibu(but 5th Gbody) over 20yrs ago. Yes, that's my wife standing there. This car had weld superlites 15X8 w/ 4.5" backspace. Daily driver 255/60-15 radial ran consistant 7.80's 1/8th mile.
