what is the biggest tire rim combo i could run on the back

hi would like to know what is the biggest tire n rim combo i could run on my 80 malibu without it touching the frame n the rear quarter if i have to roll the lip on the rear quarter its k sum one told me 15x10 with a 4-1/2 backspacing others say 15x8 any sugguestings thx

Stock rear end width? I've got a Ford 9" under the Malibu in my sig, and it's made to the factory width. I run 275/60 15s, and there's only half an inch clearance on the frame side, and about the same on the fender side. Couldn't imagine you could go much bigger without rolling the lip or notching the frame. Don't really remember the offset or backspacing, but really, that's irrelevant since the tire itself is the determing factor.

thats what i have in the rear a 9in your rims on the rear are they 8in wide

sum bobody has these for sale they came off a s10 pickup 15x5 draglites with 3" bs with 185/65/15 n 15x8 draglites with 295/55/15 mt drag radials with 4-1/2 bs would they work or fit

I ran 295/50s on a 15x8.5 with a 3.5" backspace on my 79. I had to roll my lips...however i had plenty of clearance to go in a 1/4" or even more with wiggle room

G-bodies fit a 15 x 8 on the back with 3.5 or 4 inches of backspacing. Use a 28 x 9 ET drag or a 28 x 11.5 ET street. You could use a 15 x 10 with the same backspacing with a short tire that sticks out if you want. The wheels you mentioned with 4.5 backspacing will not fit unless your rearend is wider than stock or you use spacers.

k ill roll the lip of rear quarter but i want that deep dish but also have that fat tire look
