What length speedo cable do I need?

I have an 83 wagon with a 350 and 700R4 in it. I removed the cruise control cause it did not work at all. I went to Napa to get a new speedo cable. They had 2 lengths. 84" and 100". I bought the 84". Will this work? Or should I have gotten the 100".

The 7ft one will be fine. Just make sure you route it so it doesnt bind. When i did mine i thought 7ft was rediculous but you do need it.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. It did seem really long, but the 100" cable seemed way excessive.
