Would this fan be a risk?

I thought it was a little cheap for a brand new fan, says 2500cfm and is a 16inch. Any body use on of these or are they junk?

I had one of the Summit cheapies with the S curved blade. Worked great for a few years, no cooling issues in daily driving situations, but eventually the motor started to seize up and it had a big electrical draw.

Basically what I got too, I didn't mind the thought of it only lasting a couple years since I usually change things for preference reasons before things go bad anyway. The thing I didn't like was that it's not balanced so well and vibrates.

well I went ahead and bought the fan, mounting kit, and the wiring kit for 50 bucks shipped. Figure I'll give it a go with this one and see if i can get a little better mpg

Now the wiring kit isn't as simple as expected...lol. The fan has the plug with two wires, i'm guessing its for positive and negative...but the kit just gives one wire for power. Do both wires need to be used from the fan? thanks.

You can run the ground wire straight to a metal surface and it will work fine. Mine is actually grounded to one of the orignal shroud mounting holes. It doesn't cool well enough without a shroud though.

I plan on making a shroud for it when i get a chance. Right now i live 2 minutes from work and thats about all the driving it gets (girlfriend drives a hybrid).
