The engine is a SBC 400 with a hyd 110 degree cam in it now,will switch cam for a 112 degree Hyd ROLLER cam for street use.

I have the real polylocks,was adjusting when exhaust valve starts to open adjust intake valve and when intake valve goes halfway down adjust exhaust valve is this right?THANKS

I adjusted them this way but with a starter bumper hooked up to the starter,and adjusted the exhaust valves when the intake valve goes halfway open,should I do intake valve closed?THANKS

I can run the engine after I set the valves,drive it and it runs GREAT but still has chatter and when I remove the valve covers there are a couple of the rockers back loose.

I replaced all the rocker studs with NEW ones from SummitRacing,set the lash to 0 and tighten 1/2 turn and after a few revolutions of the engine I'm still getting some rockers with lash,is this because the cam has wore,if so I will be looking for a Hyd. Roller Retro fit cam?THANKS

OK THANKS will replace the rocker studs I know some of them are bad because I cant screw the poly locks all the way down on them.

Ok after getting 0 lash is it best to go a quarter turn or a half turn?

I have a STOCK Posi 373 7.5 rearend in my 1986 Monte Carlo with a stud girdle cover and it works GREAT with my 400+ HP SBC 406 engine just fine on street tires,been running it for about 4 years now.

I went to adjust the valves today and found that when removing the polylocks that some will not unscrew by hand after they were loose or tighten by hand,so I think some of the rocker studs are bad,will not let the polylocks seat all the way,replaced one stud and polylock seated all the way, will...

Some of the rockers are just creating lash that was not there before,I have screw in studs and if the cam lobes were wore would the engine be popping back through the carb and running bad?THANKS

I use Regular 20W-50 Penszoil with Lucas oil additive.
