    Upper ear angle?

Sweet, that's what I was thinking, thanks \:D/

    Upper ear angle?

Does anyone know exactly what angle the top ears of the factory rear are? Is it a simple angle like 45º each side... or a weird one like 37º? I'm trying to get a somewhat simple solid modeling image made and I don't know what to use for the ears.

    Late G-Body seat belt/headlight reminder

I've never been in a later G-Body... say '86-'88 or so Monte SS, so I'm curious: do they actually have the tone reminder, or do they still use a buzzer?

car not turning over & remote solonoid

Figure it out? My thought would be to make sure there is a good ground getting to the motor from the battery, and also a good ground for the solenoid (I figure this is somewhat unlikely as a solenoid is typically an on/off deal, not much room for in-between). Also double check your positive...

    4.3 engine info

I got a PM asking about swapping a carbed 4.3 in their G-Body, just thought I'd share what I found. Looks like the best source for a distributor for a non-computer setup will be a full size truck, Astro van, or full size van with a 4.3. My search brought up both ECM-controlled and vacuum...

    El Camino EFI

Found some EFI-related stuff for El Caminos if anyone ever wants to go that route. I may be well behind the curve on El Camino-specific stuff, but this was in case anyone wasn't sure and wanted to go with a stock EFI tank/sender. It should take you right to '85 4.3 TBI El Camino, & you just...

    Crossed Wires?

Like LS said check grounds first, they make lights do the funky chicken if they're not connected properly. Other than that sounds like someone took the cheap way instead of running a 3rd wire for the 3rd light, and may have messed things up.

    electrical connector gurus

You could also use a terminal strip of sorts, even if it's just a single. You could find a factory one on the firewall of TBI-powered C/K trucks behind the little plastic cover for the fuel pump relay, fuses, etc.

    Speedometer....

Is it a wide sweep speedo? If so that's the only speedometer I know of besides metric. For a round speedo some Monte Carlos came with one that goes to 115mph.

    Wheel/Tire Suspension Update - 3/20/10

Re: Interior Update - 3/20/10  I nominate Tony's Malibu & Greendragginbu's 14k-mile blue one he sold some time back. I remember seeing a green one similar to it on here recently too.

    Wheel/Tire Suspension Update - 3/20/10

Re: Interior Update - 3/20/10 I think they'd look a lot better if the grooves in the spokes were painted/coated as well, even better if they did the openings like the factory IROC wheels. They just look cheap without it imo. VS

guys running T/A or Vette wheels, what spacing are you using

Re: guys running T/A or Vette wheels, what spacing are you u I never bought any. I got the wheels & tires for $200 but never put them on the car, and the tires are almost new, so at the least I got a deal on a set of tires.

guys running T/A or Vette wheels, what spacing are you using

Re: guys running T/A or Vette wheels, what spacing are you u I believe it's around 2¼" front, 2½" rear, at least that's what I measured myself. The wheels I have are in pretty sad shape so I think I'm just going with a set of Soft 8s, they'll be new so they look a lot better, and I won't...

    Wheel/Tire Suspension Update - 3/20/10

Re: Interior Update - 3/20/10 I'm pretty sure the shifter 'base' is part of the B&M shifter. Their logo is on the plastic cover as well.

    Pulse Wiper Troubleshooting Guide

Good question... I remember way back when I had an '84 Delta 88, had delay wipers. One day they either wouldn't stop running, or wouldn't turn on at all, I forget which (it was back in high school). My dad did something with it, but I think basically there's a delay board in the motor, and it...

    speedway tubular a arms

I've looked through the catalog myself and while I can't say whether or not they're the correct length arms, I know some use a screw-in type balljoint, but other than that I'm pretty sure they use stock parts.

What wiring needs to be saved for a swap?

I'd keep the 3 or 4 main wires for power for the rest of the car (factory has fusible links at the end), coil power, all sensor wires (temp, oil press, etc.), alternator/charge, starter, external lighting, and sending unit if you're using the factory sending unit/wiring (so basically keep most...

    Check engine re-wiring?

Looks like this schematic shows the check engine light... best bet if this doesn't work is to just follow the traces on the cluster. Not the easiest thing to do, but it's also not rocket science 8) At least this will give you a wire color to look for. I don't know how the LS computer...
