Converting from single to dual exhaust...

If I had the money I would've bought an Iceman crossmember... When it comes time for a TKO/T56 I'll likely get one though.

what all wiring in the dash that can be removed safely?

You can remove all the wiring on the passenger's side of the engine compartment. If you're planning to run electrical gauges, you can use the existing wiring that is for the factory gauges/idiot lights, but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to run new wiring for them. If not, it's kind of...

cant get my new VDO electric water temp gauge to work!!!

The gauge is basically an ohmmeter. You've basically found the highest temperature is the lowest resistance already. Are you using the factory sending unit, or one specifically for the gauge? I'm pretty sure not all gauges are calibrated for the same sender, you can't use just any sending...

    NEED HELP 350TBI

I know it seems a bit basic (& Streetbu mentioned it), but have you tried spraying a liquid any place there may be a vacuum leak (any gaskets, etc.)? Have you actually watched the injectors to see if they're firing correctly? How are all your vacuum hoses?

Isolating Alternator for trunk mount battery

So, are you still using the SI style alternator, that has these plugs? Wired as it is in that pic is fine. If you disconnected the red wire it would not charge.

Isolating Alternator for trunk mount battery

Yes, it would need to be on the battery side of the switch. If it's wired to the other side the alternator will keep powering the car. Basically it would be the same as if you were running the original battery/cables/alternator setup, and disconnected the cable from the battery. That cable...

    Backup Lights Issue

It would probably be a good idea to pull down that entire rear section to see if everything is still wired like it should be. If a previous owner added a ground, there's a chance they may have changed something else? That doesn't make a lot of sense for the backup lights to not work at all if...

Watch where you put your remote-mount solenoid.

Yeah, I should've done that to start with #-o Mine was probably in the same spot yours was (right behind the coolant tank). Thing was I drove it for close to a week like that without any problems. Guess the cable on the starter side migrated up & touched the hinge over time.

Watch where you put your remote-mount solenoid.

That's how mine was, grounded on the fender. I've since taken it out & just bought a starter with a lifetime warranty. Now if it starts to get hard to start when it's hot I'll just replace it.

    DIY knock sensors

I've been considering this just for peace of mind. Has anyone else built one? So far what I've seen it's mostly been the 4-cylinder/forced indution types that've done it. It appears it can be as simple as connecting a pair of headphones and it will be easier to hear (should you want to go...
