The SSM kit would work, but after buying them for $400, and paying to narrow housing and axles, I would think you'd be close to a G body 8.5....at least in areas where they turn up for sale

The sweep style "bucket" is different than the round gauge bucket. The bezels will not interchange on the bucket. Where you located? I have a good sweep bucket and bezel.

Weird part....I have owned it a week shy of a year, and it never leaked or dripped until yesterday. Looked like the rubber just rotted away from the fuel. Who knows how long it would have lasted if they had used fuel hose. None the less, new tank coming :thumbsup:

Discovered that a previous owner had put a screw with a chunk of heater hose as a gasket in the fuel tank lower corner...apparently to stop a pinhole leak. So yeah, ordered a new tank after discovering another weepy spot next to it.

Heat only cars did not get a water shutoff valve, only the cars with A/C had them installed, and they were vacuum operated when A/C was selected. No reason you couldn't put a manual valve in the inlet hose to the heater core if you need to keep hot coolant out of the core.

As flat as they are, they'd be pretty simple for a decent metalman to fabricate. The repro lowers I've dealt with on other cars fall way short of correct profile on the bottom anyway. I do know a guy that scrapped a 79 sedan and I believe he kept the rear of the quarters. They are the same as a...

IMO, another good reason to urethane them in. You won't be relying on pressure to keep a good seal, the clips will just support the glass while the urethane sets.

You'll really want to urethane it in, the butyl tape leaks over time Gm calls the lower molding a belt molding or sealing strip

Rebuilt driver's door hinges, new speedo bullet O-ring and slip yoke seal....and wiped up a bunch of ATF from aforementioned leaks.

Replaced nasty starter. Found burnt fusible link. Rerouted starter wiring, converted to remote starter relay...no more wires in that danged metal tube....which PO neglected to secure, allowing tube to lay against exhaust pipe.
