my friend has a 78 bu ....we are trying to fiqure out what size and offset we need to fit in his car..............we have a A body 12 bolt rearend in the car .....and we are looking to do some type of drag radial probally a 275 -60-15 what size rim and b.s. do we need ....thanks in advance ....TIM
there 2 different lenght 12 bolts, there the earlier which is shorter then there the 68-7? that is longer.

well my car supposedly has a 64 housing and with the frame notch and rolled lip I had an 8" wheel with 5.5"bs and now a 9" with 5-7/8"bs
I have a 1972 12 bolt 8 inch rim 5,5 Back spacing and 275/60 Drag radial rolled lip notch frame. Fits nice.

borrow a wheel and trial fit....
i have a 71 12 bolt. 5" b/s iroc rear wheels are ALL the b/s it will take. otherwise it will put the wheel in the shock mount. this is with the SSM 1328 kit too. got the wheels for free, and the 26-11.50s look EVIL in there!!!!

an 8 inch 5.5 backspace rim fits on mine but the lower shock mount requires massaging. it requires some work anyway to make the shock line up correctly.
