i've got a pair of weld wheels 15x7 problem is the backspace is 4.5" i'm worried my 225-60's are gonna crash into either the swaybar or the frame, anyone have any experiance with this combo? weld doesnt' make a 4" backspace wheel, am i just screwed?

i bet it will fit fine. my 81 bu (for a bit) had bf 275-50 drags on a 7" with 4"...slight rub on the frame on HARD turns...otherwise ok.

Ive got an 80 malibu with 15x7s with 4.25 backspace and they rub the sway bar and frame. I think they have 225 60's on them.

i mounted them up this mornning with 225-60's used a 1/4" spacer and they clear just fine.i'm not really a fan of big and littles but it'll get me by till i can find some 17's that i like.
I was going to say, that depending on the size of the tire and backspace, it could get rather close to the frame rails.
225's aren't bad. 235's with a 4.25" BS gets pretty close. ..like 3/8's to 1/2"clearance. 3.5" backspace would accomodate a bigger tire, no sweat.
I'm sure the spacers helped out alot.
