Hey everyone, whats the chance I can fit a 26x11.5x15 ET street bias ply tire on my 1980 El Camino. maybe someone with first-hand experience will chime in. I have 275 / 60 / 15 Bf goodrich tires now( with a little spacer ). Only thing that worries me is that I have 8in Weld Draglites. And I think the 26x11.5 ET streets might have a little too much sidewall. What about going to a 10in rim? what backspace is best for the 10in rim and stock frame rails? Please Help!!!!!!! Tim

the only way you'll get an 11 1/2" tire under there is to slice an inch off the outside of the frame and box it. I run a 275/60-15" drag radial on 8" wheels with 4.5" BS and have to use a custom spacer (made in my shop) on each side. Of course, you could also raise the rear of the car to allow for 11" wheels to stick out of the fenders.

This was my first wheel tire set up on the 'Bu. Stock rear end, 8.5" wide wheel, 26x11.50-15 ET Street. Was lowered approx 2" everything fit well.
