4.3 SWAP

WILL A 4.3 FIT IN THE SAME MOTOR MOUNT AS A 229 OR 231 V6. WILL I NEED TO CHANGE ANYTHING IN THE G-BODY.

If i'm not mistaken (which i might be) you just have to move the motor mount on the frame.

Wait a cotton picken minute! A 231 is a Buick V6 which I believe uses different mounts than the Chevy 229/200 V6s. My understanding is that the 4.3 is almost identical to the 229/200 externally and can use the same mounts.

Which year of 4.3 are you considering swapping in?

i just assumed it was a chevy he was switching from. you know being on Malibu racing and all. llol.

The Buick 3.8 was installed in A/G bodies in California. And of course in upper division cars. The mounts might need to be moved to different holes in the frame.

Otherwise, the 4.3L mounts should be indentical to the 229/200 mounts. So no problems there.
