I just acquired what I believe to be a 4L80E automatic trans. out of a 1992 chevy van, what would it take to make it work in a 1980 malibu? Is this a good trans? Any advise would be appreciated.

I'm not saying its not a 4l80E. But I don't think its the electronic transmission in 92. If you post a pic I can Identify it for you. But it is a good trans. They are like a th400 but with an overdrive.
