And a huge amount of hours behind. Once you take the sheath off those harnesses they reveal a rats nest of wires. If you want to spend the time to remove unwanted or not needed wires I would say , Go ahead but I prefer the purchase route due to the time savings. I have a Speartech harness, it was about 750.00 CDN shipped to my door and its a beautiful harness. I wouldn't spend the time and effort sorting out a factory harness unless you really want to spend the time or are on a tight budget. IMHO

Sometimes that's part of the fun. The last harness I tangled with was a TBI one though, not near the wiring of an SFI motor. I may still try it if I can get one extremely cheap (that way if I fail I'm not that far behind), otherwise I'll probably decide on a pre-made one. Wonder how much the GM one is?
