i have a 5600 converter in good air but this time of year its more like a 5400. Before i changed gears i was trapping at 7600 in the 1/4 and in hi gear before the 1/8. since i didnt run the 1/4 i cant tell but by rule of thumb its 300rpm for every gear ratio. so i'll say in the 1/4 i should trap about 6700

yeah i have to do the same because that converter i'm using was behind a 14 degree 406 that made about 750hp. i bought it and stuck it behind my motor because it had the same stall(5600) that i needed. i will do that and a t-brake while i'm getting the other motor ready.

i changed from 3.73 to 4.11 about a month ago. my 60ft did improve a little, but also put slicks on from the drag radials too.

it all really depends on where the motor makes torque. a nitrous or big cube motor doesnt need a ton of gear. my buds nova has 3.55's and runs 10.50's and 60's in the 1.50 range. most of the time more gear is needed is to put the motor higher in the rpm range if thats where it makes torque. if your down on power usually going higher (numerically) in gear will speed it up. usually the more torque you make the less gear you need.
