Absolutely. That is the same deal I did. I have a posi that came out of a 4th gen f-body in my '86 Monte Carlo SS housing. You will need to have 28 spline axles to match the LS1 carrier. I got mine from Moser. Double check the spline count in the carrier before ordering axles.

Yup yup. I was considering a 26-spline posi for this year, but after adding everything up that I've already spent it's just not in the budget. A 28-spline will come when I go through the rearend with new seals & whatnot
