So I've started my 6.0 swap into my 1985 Monte Carlo. I finally picked up the engine two weeks ago, it is a 6.0 from a 2004 Chevy truck. I have gotten my old engine out now and the 6.0 is in, but I have an issue. I just found out that the Trans Dapt "stock position" motor mount plates actually set my engine 1 inch away from the transmission. So either I need their 1 inch setback plates or just move the frame pad back an inch.

Here's some pictures. I still haven't decided which intake to use. I would like to use the truck one but man it sure is ugly...

Awesome, thanks for the pictures man. This will definetely help! I saw all the holes in the frame and I thought I might get some to line up, but it looks like it will work out better than I thought.

The engine is in! After a little bit of work I got the frame pads moved back one hole and bolted up and set the engine in. Perfect fit, meets right up to my Th350 trans.

Thank you so much Littlefranks, I am very grateful you posted. You saved me a lot of heartburn and beating my head against a wall. ](*,)

Oh and the pics.
This picture my wife took, she steped out into the garage and started laughing at me standing in there Fred Flintstone style, so she snapped it.

what transmission do you have?
you got it to just bolt up to the LS block? I have heard that the LS block will line up with the old trannies...

Rjleiker,
I have a 350 turbo transmission and yes all bolt holes line up except for one. Well, technically its not that it doesnt line up, there's just no drilling in the 6.0 block for it.
