87 monte with serp alt

I have a 87 monte carlo that i put a serp system off a 91 firebird in and the problem im having is can I use the alternator that came off the firebird or do I need to get a one wire alternator? I think the alternator off the firebird has to have a signal wire is there any way i can use the one off the firebird? Im pretty lost here so any info will help.

I think there is a wire plug that will hook up to your Monte Carlo alternator wires and will then plug into the newwer Alternator. Doug

The brown wire from the SI alternator plug is all you should need, tie that into the plug for the CS alternator from the Firebird. If that doesn't work, a 25w 10 ohm resistor on an ignition-switched 12v source will also work.
