im hooking up my oil and water temp on my 80 malibu and dont know what wire to spice into for the light switch so when i turn the lights or parkin lights on the gauge lights come on. If some one could tell me which wire it is would b great.

um on my 78 it was the grey wire on the light switch harness. the easiest thing to do is splice into the power wire that oes to the heater control though. that way your lights will come on at the right time and you can be almost sure they are going to work without having to trace wires till you're blue in the face.

It will be the grey wire going to any of the dash lights. Just splice in to the most accessible one. IMO the one right off the headlight switch is the easiest. Or the one going to the heater control as 78_Elky mentioned.
thanks guys for the info now that i know it i can get them done and finish up the battery cables so i can get ready to start my bu up.
