B&M 144 blower

This may be a stupid question, so hold on I have a chance at getting a used b&m 144 supercharger with two edelbrock carbs, linkages, pulley's, etc. for $500 :shock: It's the polished version but has corrosion on it and really needs to be cleaned up. Think I can safely run it on my 310hp cast piston sbc? Dont know if I will because i dont want t cut a hole in my hood, but undecided as of yet....Thoughts :?

For that price i would grab it whether you use it right now or not. But ya you can use it safely. My buddy used my b&m 162 on his 330hp crate motor with a 5lb pulley and he had no problems at all. Go for it!

Thats kinda what I was thinking. I have never had any forced induction....what would you think about a 75 hp increase maybe? Looks like they sell for alot more than that on ebay, so I may just resell it decisions, decisions..... :-k

Once you put it on you wont want to sell it. 75hp would be easy to get out of it. Does it have teflon strips on the rotors?

I dont know.....I'm going over to my friends machine shop tomorrow and I'll check it out closer.....So 5psi will get me to 380hp or so huh? .....Dammmm, guess maybe I will get it if it's in good conditon and decide from there.

You should be able to make that kinda power with it, and even if it does need a rebuild you can get the rebuilds for cheap. I just did mine a couple of months ago and it was easy. The best person i feel to talk to about them is Tim posik from Supercharger USA
