battery dies everything checks good

My battery dies but the altornator , battery, and starter checks out good. And the only thing thats got a constant hot is my MSD box, i don't have heat air or a radio in my car so could it be a bad wire some where or is it something else. I had this same set up wiring and all in a 79 regal and never had this problem what could it be. At an idle the volt gauge is sitting at 12 or below, i have to rev it up to like 2200 then it kicks the needle up to 14 and then the dummy light in the cluster comes on?

Do you know how much current the box is drawing when the car is off? I know typically alternators usually kick in between 1000 and 1500, but that still wouldn't be an excuse for the battery takin' a dump. How long does the car sit before the battery is too discharged to start the car?

I would remove the neg. terminal on the battery and put a test light between the terminal a battery post, if the test light lights up with no loads on you have to much amp draw and it will run the battery down.

ok i'll try the test light trick, but the car sits for maybe a day or two before the battery dies but, like i said as long as i rev it up and get the volt gauge up to 14 it can sit for a week or two and it is ok its confusing really.
