My brother has a demon and can't get the hang of it, runs great wide open but likes to foul plugs at idle... I am running a holley 770 street avenger and it is by far the best carb I have ever ran straight out of the box! I would like to pick up a holley 650 or 750 for drag racing to put on my vic. jr however... It really depends on what you want to do, street car I would say vac. secondaries and a dual plane intake. Drag racing I would go with a single plane and a double pumper... I have a 750 vac secondary I just got rebuilt sitting in the garage if you decide to pick on up for a reasonable price let me know...

I cant talk enough junk about BG demon carbs... i bought two a year ago both carbs would not idle, and would choke out while driving down the road. i did a search and found a BUNCH of people complaining about trash in the brand new carbs. sure enough i pulled 20 to 30 slivers of aluminum from the bowls metering blocks and even hung in the boosters. i called BG and the tech guys were total jerks and claimed it was the operator and not the product. I took a picture of the aluminum so that i could send it to them. they offered to go back through both carbs..... i had already done that so it was a waste of shipping which they would also not pay. I called Jegs which is were i bought the carbs and they wouldnt do anything either so basically i dont buy anything form either company. sorry for the long reply just trying to save someone else from making a COSTLY mistake.

I won't give details about BG stuff out of a desire to be polite, but I wouldn't (& neither would most of the people who work or used to work for Barry) use anything other than a Holley.

What's that tell ya?

I am running the proform h.p. it seems rarther good for the price. Its a litle cheaper the the holley h.p. but has almost identical features. However i did have a problem right off the bat. Um like them forgetting to install a secondary float. Not only does this tell me they arent very good at following directions but the also dont flow test there carbs like they say they do. Because if they did they would have had it shoot out of the overflow on first start up instead of me. With some minor tweeks though the progorm is a good buiding block. I M H O i would go holley all the way ive never had a bad thing to say. You can take a 100 junk swao meet carb and make it run as good as new for 40-50 bucks and ur labor.
