it was a eagle assy. cast steel crank and i beam rods, and hyper piston i will never use hyper piston again,or a cast crank ,#8 piston was destroyed, its funny the other 6 cyc.turned over fine with no problems i guess i could make a V6 out of whats left
I was thinking about eventually putting nitrous on my motor (stock/factory bottom end), but not now!! I only thought that kind of damage would happen from a blower!!
I'm going to rethink my rotating assembly before I try that.
That sucks big time. I hate to see that happen to anyone, especially with the work that goes into our cars.
thats pretty bad for a 125 shot. its weird how some people can spray 200 on stock bottom ends and be fine and others break. its just a time deal i guess or luck. tune also has something to do with it.
I wouldn't be scared to spray. Hypers should be fine up to a 150 to be safe, just watch your timing and fuel. My car had an all stock bottom end with cast .040 pistons, and it took a 100 shot when I sat on the button while staging, and then went 12.30 on the bottle! lol
I used to spray my 67 Nova 388 with Hyper pistons with 125 shot all the time never had a problem. This could happen to any engine with N20 if improperly used IMO. I'm not saying it wasn't tuned properly but something was out of wack. Regardless that's the worst engine damage Ive ever seen. =D>
