Are these direct bolt ons to a stock rear end or are there mods that need to be done for these to work? I have stock axles and drum breaks. Thanks in advance.

You have to cut some of the housing ends off so they will sit back enough, I was gonna do this with my camaro but ended up having ford 9" ends installed instead.

yeah, i thought you had to cut the housing down to like 1/4" from the flange.

anyone use c-clip elims and drive your car on the street at all? i've heard that they tend to leak when street driven. any truth to this?

so for the highjack.

If you use 9 inch ends do you have to use the 9 inch axles or do the 8.5 axles fit in the 9 inch axle bearings?

You just use a 9" bearing, I used the big bearing housing ends on the camaro.

you also have to modify the backing plates (notch to the same size as elim) to alow the elim to bolt directly to the flange.

they work fine with factory drum brakes and dont need to do a thing to them or the housing itself. Now the c-clip eliminator is a bearing pressed onto the axle and I'm not positive if stock axles are the same diameter as what they sell to use with them.. I'd call them and check.

As stated previously you have to cut the bearing ends off to 1/4" away from the backing plate flange, and then notch the backing plates to allow for the c-clip elim to mount flush to the flange, I just finished this on my 7.5" 10 bolt on Monday

well I guess the 7.5 is different... never done that to a 12bolt or ford 8.8.... the backing plate simply gets sandwiched between the c-clip eliminator and the housing flange, I cant see how it'd need to be clearenced any.
