Hey there I got a fairly mild 454 (cam, slight head work, intake, headers, .030 flattops 10:1 and 150hp spray) going into my malibu with a powerglide transmission. Just wondering if there was a decent priced diff that would work in the car I am upgrading to a strange 9 inch when the money is there just would like to track something down so I can have it together for summer and not worrying about blowing up the stock diff that is in it now any pointers would be appreciated thanks.

A junkyard 9 inch chunk with a Traction Lock would work for a while, maybe. The Ford Traction Lock has a weak side cover that will break and ruin almost everything in the rear end if you abuse it too much. The best thing to do is get an after market differential, like the Duragrip, and use it. They will take much more abuse than the original Ford TL. There is also the Truetrac and Detroit Locker, which have their place too. Detroit Locker for drag racing and Truetrac for road racing or auto cross.

Typical broke Ford TL.

Buy moser axles c clip eliminators and a good spool and weld, the axle tubes. Youll loose the weakest link in a 7.5 which are the spider gears by using a spool. I have a friend that also welded the spool in .

I thought you were asking about a cheap diff for the 9 inch. Don't bother with the 7.5 at all if you are going to put in a 9 inch later. Anything that you do to the 7.5 will be a waste of time and money.

Moser sells the brackets. I don't have a price on them.

QP also sells them, they have other kits listed if you don't need all the mounts.
This has UCA, LCA & Spring Pearch mounts:
