does anyone know if the engine from a 1981 delta 88 -350 would be compatable for a 1982 el camino?? im fishing for answers to find a good donor car to do a swap from 229 v6 to 350sb. any advice on any year car would be apreciated. its seems that around my area there are more olds around than anything else!! thanks in advance.

First off I do not believe the BOP (Buick Olds Pontiac) engine will not bolt to the Chevy trans. There may be other issues too but that's a big one unless you use the Olds transmission too.
I'm sure the frame is drilled to accept BOP motor mounts.

Last Olds that came with a 350 was 80, just so you know. In 81 if it is an original motor it will be a 307.
I put a 350 olds into a chevy, the motor mounts for the fullsized cars will work with the g-body cars, cutlass,regal, el camino. Any you can get an adapter plate to run a chevy transmission if you need to, TCI makes them.

Just curious if you started or still plan on doing the swap? I bought a '79 Malibu about 5 months ago with a blown 305 and have a 350 Olds just sitting in the garage and was curious how your swap was going? I would love to get a SBC for it but I put some money in the Rocket years ago and figured I might give it a try in the Bu til I am able to find and build a solid 355 for her. Good luck
