clutch rpm sensor?

anyone have input on setting up a clutch/input shaft speed sensor to monitor clutch slip? i'm not having much luck with my searches.

Most data loggers have a drive shaft speed sensor for measuring torque converter efficiency, you could use that vs your rpms and solve your problem ;)

thanks for the reply. my question with this method is when to apply the gear ratio of a particular gear (1st, 2nd, 3rd...) to show the clutch rpm. with my daq i'd have to import the rpm values to excel to show the clutch rpm, then plot it. i think that i would just be guessing when the clutch was actually engaged.

I see what you mean, the only other thing I can think of is somehow getting that sensor on the input shaft of the transmission and having a reluctor wheel made that mimics the way the pickup was on the driveshaft, then the ratios would be gone. Sounds like a fun project!
