dart heads street/strip

what do you guys thing about useing dart iron eagle heads on a street strip set up the heads are

308 runners
119 chambers
2.250/1.880 valves
.640 max lift springs

is it to much head for an street strip bbc 454

I think they will be fine. A good oval port head would be perfect, but the small port rectangular port head is a good compromise.

If you don't get a smoking deal on them, I would go with the 781 or 049 and buy the 2.19 1.88 or even the 2.25 intake valves.

Score a RPM air gap if its more street than strip, if not Victor Jr.

What cam? If you're gonna' spin her up there, say .680 lift solid, get to around 7000 run them.

Let me put it another way, good friend had a car with a 11.75-1 396, solid cam, square ports, Vic Jr, 4 gear, 4.56 rear....sold the car decided to de-tune it per buyer request....781 heads, same intake, 3.42 gears....went half a second faster the next day, same weather conditions.

I know it was a 396 not a 454.

Driver stuff I would say oval ports. If you got a smoking deal, use 'em. If you have none, look for some 781/049 already fixed up.
