I would say depends on intended use of the car. Personally not a fan of fabricated dashes.

Swap to a Pontiac G body dash...better looking and accomodates aftermarket gauges without looking so aftermarket
Swap to another G body dash (Olds or Buick)

When you suggest considering a Pontiac, Olds or Buick G-Body dash; are you saying that they are a direct fit, just a different gauge layout? Or will significant modification be involved?
