you basically have to destroy those clips to get them off.they're spring steel and you can't really get
under them to push the fingers up.i run into those at work and just start on one side with a small pair of side cutters and make a slice in it to release the tension.or if the part that it's holding on isn't going to be or reused,i just snip the posts that go through them and twist em off.there's no real way to save them when taking them off.I've seen them at hardware stores people use them for the dome light retainers too.
They're called push nuts. They come off, but it takes some time & a lot of practice.
If you want to get creative, most trophy stores will make really nice custom placques...
I have had some luck in the past where you can take a small pair of pliers and you can spin them off.You have to put the pliers on the outside of the nut and gently pull up as you spin.I know these are just push on and not threaded,but if you spend some time you can work them off.If your not worried about reusing them I would just cut em like mentioned above.
