Del-A-Lum rear bushings...

SO...

Del-A-Lums for the rear... first off would the bushings be the same size for 7.5" and 8.5"? I wouldn't mind upgrading the bushings in the rear of the car, but I don't know if I can get a new set for all the way around.

The car hasn't seen any track time, was driven daily last summer, and by the time it's time to hit the track, I'll have the '78 on the road and new bushings all the way around the car. What does everybody recommend? I'm sticking to a pretty tight budget, going to have the lower arms boxed.

Really, one of the best things you can do with a Converging 4-link setup, is leave the stock rubber bushings in the rear end housing! Then use "Johnny Joints" frame side. When running poly bushings in the housings, the rear suspension tends to bind. The rubbers allow the system to flex a small amount.

Another option is to run spherical bearings in the upper housing mounts, they're available from Wolfe RaceCraft, but cost some money...

If you haven't already, check out the control arms the sponsors offer: UMI, TRZ, and Iceman (on ebay). The arms that Iceman offers use Heim joints, so I wouldn't recommend them for regular street driving. I'd invest in a good set of control arms before I started looking into specialty bushings...

I have Energy Suspension polyurethane bushing in my 81 malibu and it hooks .I havent heard any squeks or any noise from the rear end bushings.

You can't go wrong with the Delalum bushings, as long as you use the spherical bushings on the other ends.
