I have a 1983 cutlass, the computer triggered some code as my check engine light came on. Now the car will not start. Anyone know where the diagnostic port is located on these things as I seem to be blind and cant find it. I can find it on my 81 bu but that is about it.

what do you have to read the code? I know on snap-ons stuff if you enter the car info first it will tell you where to find it.
its an actron. I know that it is suppossed to be on the driver side and believe it to be mounted under the dash but I must be blind or it is not there.
That is usually where it is at. Do you have the plastic covers under the dash that hide all the wires and stuff? If so, there is usually a hole in the, I believe right by the transmission hump (towards the center), that hides the ALDL port. Also, If you don't have a scan tool or code checker, you can short pins A & B together to get the check engine light to flash the code for you.
