Do I need new springs?

How much will the front drop with the new combo? (5.3/4l60e) The car has original V6 springs. A little rake would be fine.

I'm going to assume you're into the drag racing thing, which is fine. If you are, then no leave them alone. The aluminum headed v8 doesnt weight that much more then the iron v6. Probably about 200 lbs. It will definitely be lower than it was, but the only way to find out how much is to try it. I would guess about 1-2" at most. Plus it's good for weight transfer on the launch
