door adjustments

hi guys.This question is off malibu subject but I'm rebuilding my 82 chev.k-10.My question is what is the best way to adjust the doors.should I be adjusting with the door seal in or off while adjusting?I have been at it for several hours and seam to have to take breaks cause it's getting the best of me.Thanks for any advise.John

hey john,leave the seal in.pull the striker outta the jamb so u can adjust the door without having to deal with the latch assy dictating where the door lands and you wont have to deal with the restriction of opening and closing the latch everytime.makes for a better time.this works good for me when i'm lineing up noses too.that way you dpon't have to keep poping the hood everytime.
