I have a 79 mailbu and have a 6.0l for it, i have both truck and f body oil pan, which oil pan should i use that fits best? i would like to use f body pan for the ground clearance but probably would have to cut alot of k frame.. will the truck pan fit better and do you have to cut frame?

yeah i'll look into that.. i did a s10 6 liter swap and used f body pan on that one and had to cut alot on that k member..

agreed, with the truck one it hangs low...very low, and the fbody needs notching...I've got the CTS-V one ready to go on now.

Instead of cutting the k-member, I would modify the truck pan, take 2.1/4" inches off the sump and the p/u tube.

Like everyone else has already said, the truck pan will clear but it hangs very low. I have the f-body pan with 1" set back plates and mine clears the stock frame but it's really close. It just barely clears.
If you can afford it I would buy the aftermarket $180 or so pan or a ctsv pan.
