gear and tire help?

i have a 1983 Cutlass w/a 600hp 355 and a p/g w/a 5,000 stall and trans brake. the car weighs right at 2600lbs w/driver. i have 5.13 gears and 32x14x15 slicks on it now as it is set up for the 1/8th mile. can anyone tell me what tire size/gear i would need to run for the 1/4 mile? i am thinking along the lines of 4.56 gears and keeping the 32x14x15 slicks, is that correct?

ive got 456 in mine with 275-60-15 and i went through the traps about 7000-7200 and when i had 410's i went through at 6600.

hey bowtie, what trans are you using? also, are you running a small block and what size, 355, 377, 383, 400, 406, 434? thank's.

ok, given my weight, hp, trans, 5,000 stall, ladder bar and coil over setup, if i use a 4.56 gear which i more than likely will, what tire should i run? can i go to a 28-29x10.5 tire from the now 32x14? i gotta find out cuz i gotta get set up for the 1/4 by February, thank's.

Just out of curiosity what was your mph I am thinking of putting 456 in my car.

im running a 350 60 over with a b&m 162 blower, 350 transmission with a 3500 stall, i think my mph was around 115-120

i was told i can run a 4.33 gear and still run my 32x14 slicks which should put me through the 1/4 trapps at 6,800rpm and about 135-140mph. i called a tech line and we came up the right gear, thank's.
