i have a set of vortec 305 ho heads theyare 58 cc and i was wondering if those were good heads to put on a 30 over 350 right now i have a standered set of 350 heads on it they are 76 cc or 78 cc

my buddy used them same set up he got good compression but the small valves hurt him a little bit, if thats all youve got heck use em
Uh, they don't make 305 Vortecs....? To my knowledge.

Do you have 305 center bolt valve cover heads? How many bolts hold down the intake on each side?
The 305 heads make compression, small valves build port velocity and torque with a quick throttle response. They run out of steam around 5000 RPM. You'll need to run the best octane gas you can. If they are not on yet, they would be better overall if you opened up the edges of the chamber to the gasket edge to keep them from being hot spots in the chamber/cylinder that can lead to detonation/pinging.
