I have been running hoosier slicks on my car for the past two years, they grip pretty good, but people have told me that if I go to goodyear slicks they will hook harder. Anybody got any theories?

we have ran both. they seem to be about even, BUT we don't have to heat the hoosiers up near as hot to get to hook, well we get the tires as close to track temp as possible, but the hoosiers get there way faster.

It all depends. I have personally seen small tire car perform the best on M/T's. Big tire cars I've seen run best with Goodyear. With the 10.5w's, a number of guys are switching from M/T to Hoosier (Mobley comes to mind as the most recent). All of this will depend entirely on the compound, usage, suspension setup, wheel width, etc etc etc. Best bet is to just experiment and find what you like.
